The University of Edinburgh celebrates International Women’s Day 2015
International Women’s Day celebrates the economic, political and social achievements of women around the world.
The University of Edinburgh wishes to mark this day by showcasing a few of the 6,000 female staff members who have been nominated by their peers for their contribution to the University and beyond. We asked leading photographers to help us celebrate the diversity and influence of the roles these women hold in the University, while capturing their individuality and character, which are clearly a great part of their success. These women not only ‘Inspire Change’ but also make real change. They help us ensure our world-class University is constantly considered one of the top 50 in the world. Their dedication is helping us meet the urgent challenges affecting the world and provide an outstanding student experience to 33,000 students, 16,000 lifelong learners and more than 300,000 MOOC learners.
These women are role models who will not only make a mark in our University’s history but also inspire us all.
